Bloom Beanie

The Bloom Beanie is a fun knit that creates what I hope becomes a staple in your cold weather hat collection. I’m especially excited about the stitch pattern that’s used and the opportunity it creates to come up with some awesome colour combinations. It’s also a perfect stash buster, and oh yeah, it’s reversible too!

This is a downloadable pattern pdf.

Directions

The hat is worked in one piece from the bottom up. First you will work the stitch pattern only in the main colour. Then you will work the stitch pattern alternating one row in the contrast colour (these will be purl rows) and the next row in the main colour (these will be knit rows). Then there is a series of decrease rounds to create the crown shaping. Weave in the ends and you’re done!

Materials

Yarn: 1 skein of Purl Soho Cashmere Merino Bloom (75% Merino 25% Cashmere, 218 yds / 199 m - 100g), colourway Red Poppy as the main colour

1 skein of Purl Soho Cashmere Merino Bloom (75% Merino 25% Cashmere, 218 yds / 199 m - 100g), colourway Wheat Flour as the contrast colour (CC)

You will use roughly 70g of the main colour and 30g of the contrast colour so you should be able to make a second hat from the leftovers if you wish!
