Everyday Collar (Featured in Laine's 52 Weeks of Shawls)

This pattern is published in 52 Weeks of Shawls by Laine Publishing.

This simple and classic collar is worked in two flat pieces from the bottom up. The pieces are then seamed together at the shoulders using a 3-needle bind-off. I loved the utilitarian nature of the original false shirt fronts (also known as “dickeys”) but added in extra texture and the oversized collar to make more of a statement. The garment is knitted using two strands of yarn held together: a sport weight wool yarn with a lace weight silk mohair.

Width: 15” / 38 cm.

Length: 20.25” / 51 cm.

22 sts x 38 rows to 4” / 10 cm in main body patt with yarn A and B held tog, after blocking.

4 skeins of Brightwool Sport Weight Rambouillet (100% Rambouillet, 250 yds / 229 m – 91 g), colourway Natural as Yarn B.
